ACBS Overseas

September last year, Ptr. Arsenio S. Viernes the school’s former Administrator opened up Asia Institute for Biblical Studies Hong Kong (AIBS).
As the vision placed in the hearts of Ptr. Ver and Mama Linda continues to blossom, our God also continually provides every need. Ptr. Arsie and his wife Liberty went to Hong Kong empty handed being excited about how God is going to work through and for them. Monthly, they are receiving a stipend that supports them and Ptr. Eddie Canon residing there provided a place for them to stay. Really God has been so faithful. As of now, the first term of the school curriculum has been finished, accommodating 20 students and expecting more this second term. They are meeting every Sunday, doing their classes. All of his students are overseas Filipino workers that grab the opportunity of studying the Word of God at the same time. God has proven his undying faithfulness up to the fullest.
Up to this very moment we and AIBS are still in touch with each other working hand in hand on how the two can give and offer better services for the glory of God! Early week of January this year, Ptr. Ver and Mama Linda along with other faculty members are scheduled to visit AIBS Hong Kong. Let us continually pray for these ministries.

During the Sem Break!

Like most of the common schools, Asia Center for Biblical Studies practices Semester breaks. From the 24th of October up to the 9th of November, students went home to take a rest from the whole sem of studying and to splurge the Holidays with their families. And the silence once again sheltered the campus, seems like taking its rest as well.
On the other hand, the faculty and the Admin marked the calendar by having a day of unwinding, as we indulge ourselves at Villa Gregoria Nagcarlan, Laguna. Before dipping in to the cold water, we took our lunch and held a meeting for a while to gear ourselves for the coming sem, we scheduled the teachers subjects and talked about students’ performances.

And then after, we finally spent the whole time swimming, chatting, eating and play some games. We haven’t done this for a long time now, this also served as a welcome bash for Ptra. Joy Inawasan as the newest member of the faculty.
What a break!

ACBS to the rescue!

PRAYERS CAN DO A LOT of things, more than we could ever imagine. But this time the school also wanted to do something to reach out to those in great needs. Brgy. Umboy, Sta. Cruz, and Brgy. Conception, Lumban both in Laguna were just two of the many that were flooded due to the typhoons that just went through. With the great volume of rain water rushed down the Laguna Lake, both places sunk.

Last October 02, 2009 led by Leni P. Aycardo, one of our students, who lives in that place, along with the Students Body Organization (SBO), Mama Linda Jacinto, Dean Eliasar Jansol, helped by some other students visited those areas with relief goods gathered in two-week-time to provide the needs of the flood victims. The students didn’t mind the difficulty of going through that stinky and unpleasant water just to help.

Unlike last year, we went carolling to furnish groceries to our neighbours during Christmas seasons instead of them giving us any in return. This time we gathered enough used clothes, shoes, toys and contributed some to buy urgent necessities to meet these great needs.

Repairs on our landslide area!

We have witnessed how the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng hit our country last year and how these damaged the environment, injured businesses, destroyed infrastructures and devastated lives, even claimed some.
Asia Center for Biblical Studies also experienced a landslide that could have brought the Administrator’s building down. Although we have already allotted the money at hand for some vital things, this first needs to be fixed. Therefore, the Administrators having not enough to finance the work showed the school’s situation to all concerned individuals that were willing and able to help in any way possible. E-mails, pictures through facebook were posted and the result was pleasing. Many have offered help even though the global crisis of recession is pulling many down. But the abundance of God’s provision, once again was proven.
The school hired men to do the job, helped by some of our stay-in students since the semestral break was on going by then. As of now, the work is almost done, the landslide full of mud before has been paved, and transformed into a flat wide area. It is also being fenced by metal pipes and bars for finishing. Ptr. Ver has plans of setting up three mini kubos to generate income in ways we’ll see in the near future.

We’re so thankful to everyone who had offered to help, in kinds, money, and even in prayers. This work can’t be done without your help. To see more of this project’s before and after please do visit our Facebook account, Asia Center for Biblical Studies.

It's been a while!

The semestral break had passed, second sem is now here! I really don't know how to start, I missed blogging since I for awhile as well, had my break for a week hehehe!

Well, let me start what the school had been through during those times the students are away. Who can forget the typhoons who rushed in... though the school in itself had not that badly damaged, we still found a hard time cleaning and fixing, for only few of us were left here in the campus. Landslide remains can still be noticed if you could have a chance to pass through our roads here at Majayjay, actually we have one in front of the school, where the administrator's building is sitting, it left just a couple of meters of dirt, shaking to hold the whole building away from the main road, worry not anymore for it was finally fix after almost a month!

Again Sem beak is the time wherein we, the faculty and staff are having our one day outing, we have managed to go to Villa Gregoria, a well place in Nagcarlan, Laguna to enjoy and unwind after the whole sem's work! But before we finally deep in, planning for the second sem's schedule was discussed and settled... mid day was scorching yet the pool's water was so really cold that made us all asked for no more. Aside from that a fine table for our lunch was set, and talk no more for the baked brownies as dessert.

At home, She is!

Mama Myrna L. Barr
, An American woman from the United States who went half the globe to stay here with us! With her is a cat named Spot!

English Course is her expertise, she first visited us here in 2005 and taught Computer basics as well for a couple of months and went home for she's also a teacher in her own land. Maybe she fell in love with the country so she decided to come back the following year again just to spend 2-3 months since that is the time they are having vacation in states. But she can't get enough of the place that she decided to stay here with us for good last July 2008! Soon she will be running the Orphanage under construction at the back of the school! She called the said orphanage: "Still Waters kid's home"
God really blessed her for dedicating herself to the Lord and to the ministry she is in!

By the way, she just celebrated her ___th Birthday last October 09! Happy Birthday Mama Myrna (as we all call her)

May God Bless you more!

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did what would be there to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times, during those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvements.

Be thankful for your mistakes, they will teach valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things, a life of rich fulfillment comes from those who are also thankful for the set backs.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they will become blessings.

I have read this somewhere, I just couldn't remember where! I posted it here for I know you will be somehow inspired as well as it did to me!
Be thankful God loves us!

From the 21st to the 25th of this month (Monday to Friday)
Ptr. Eddie Bercero PhD. from the Long beach, California will be conducting an ongoing seminar relating to the basic Church Doctrines. We are so glad having him here, for he chose to stay, and more, it is the school's privilege having him to educate our students though he is just on a vacation.

Let God repay him for all of these he is sharing!

Christian Education...

Maám Lea P. Roguel
Dealing the children ministry? Trust her!
She can teach you how to treat kids when they are at their nastiest.
Thirteen years she has been with us.
Time can really tell how good you are at your craft!
Some of our well-trained ministers passed her hands, no wonder why she's still receiving so much appreciations from them! Thanking her for the skills and knowledge he has imparted with them.

A pastor's wife with one kid, aside from those household chores yet she still manages to pursue her career.
Maám Lea, a mother, a wife, a minister, a teacher, a friend. Should be proud!

Glory to God!

When it comes to Bible History...

Ptr. Victor E. Gojo Cruz is from the first batch, calling themselves as the "Gospel Proclaimers". They were only five in that group way back 1995 and I believe that they are all now in successful ministries! The first fruits of our school.

Talking about Ptr. Vic (as we all call him) you can always hear from him "well History is history and today will be part of it",and he is well-skilled into it! After graduating he decided to stick with us through teaching his preferred subjects while pastoring at UECC Suba here in Majayjay, Laguna.
Not to mention but he is my Pastor. "Good Pastor"

To Jesus be all Glory!
